ILLLUSTRATION BY MALINDA & SONG LYRICS BY LAURA

From STOP Cyberbullying

How could I have hurt you so bad
I didn't want to but I had no choice
They were going to hurt me or maybe somethin' worse
You don't know how badly they threatened
I didn't want them to hurt my family
You know what I mean

That I was being a cyberbully and
That I would pay the price for
Doing that to you and I am still shocked
That I could have done somethin' that
Bad to my best friend forever I
Hope that you'll take me back again
And I need you to 'cuz you helped
Me thru ev'rything and you're the one
Who knows why I need you you're
The Best

So now I am finally regretting
Why I did cyberbully you
How do you act like you're
So not hurt Oh

'Cuz now I've done that horrible
Thing to one of the best people
In my world and know I know
Why I so shouldn't have done that thing
How do you forgive me, I betrayed you
It's so treacherous how doyou do it if I was
You I wouldn't take me back how are so
Forgiving
Why did I do that, I don't know why
How did I get so tangled up I'm
So afraid and I wanna get outta this
Mess, it's the worst story why did
You say yes Oh

I got tired of hurting, wondering
If you had called the cops, my mind
Took realization and flipped it over
10 x 1 and I said, I'm so sorry
How could I have done that why
Did I do it I don't know why
Now can we be friends again
Please help me never to do that
Again and you forgave me under
One condition, that I would never
Do that again, I'm so glad that
You can be my friend again I
Forgive you Oh

That you forgave me was the best thing

Watch Out, Cyberbullies! by Laura Illustration by Keyla

It was a cold but calm evening in March. Sophie lay on her bed, fighting back tears, but to no avail. She wished that she could just die. But she thought, with a wry smile, I'm already going to in two weeks. September was when the cyberbully had said to her that she was his target. A cyberbully had sent something horrible to her. He said that he was out to get her and was going to kill her on her 13th birthday, which was just two weeks away, April 13th on a Friday. She was so terrified that she couldn't concentrate on a very important math test that she had earlier that day.Sophie just couldn't stand it anymore, so she just broke down crying. An hour later, when she had finally calmed, she decided to stay away from house, because that was where the cyberbully would kill her, probably while she slept.
So Sophie emailed the cyberbully and asked to meet him instead of him killing her. He agreed to her proposal. What the cyberbully didn't know is that right after Sophie emailed him, she called the police and told them everything. The police decided to put plainclothesmen and hide them around the area in the park where Sophie would meet the cyberbully. In the email Sophie sent asked if they could meet April 14th, the day after her birthday.
As said to the above, he agreed, but under one condition. Sophie had to be alone when she met him.
Those two weeks flew by. Sophie grew more tense as the days went by. Her birthday came and went. On the morning when Sophie was to meet the cyberbully, she woke up suddenly and was zombie-like up to the time when Sophie was to meet the cyberbully at 7 'o' clock .

Sophie walked to the park. It was just two blocks from her house. The park was deserted at that time. Suddenly a boy came out of nowhere and started walking towards Sophie with a big smirk on his face. Sophie shouted at him,

" You're the cyberbully?!! You've got to be kidding me!"

" Yep, I sure am." said the boy. Suddenly, out of nowhere, two plainclothesmen grabbed the boy and said to Sophie,

" Thanks for getting him to come out. We've been on this kid for months."

James, as his name turned out to be, went to juvenile detention for three years before he was let out because he had bullied eleven other children his age. He didn't get touch anything electronic until he was eighteen. As for Sophie, she went on with her life. But she always would remember that day when she was cyberbullied.

The End

Examples of Cyberbullying by Max

Cyberbullying is when someone texts, blackmails, or emails someone to make them feel bad. Cyberbullying is when someone threatens, embarrassed, or anything that is meant to hurt them (mentally).
Kids cyberbully to make them selves feel better. Sometimes kids don't even know there doing it, if kids are angry they will do stuff they don't want to.

Here are some cyberbullying stories I found at http://www.cyberbullyalert.com/blog/2008/10/stories-of-cyber-bullying/
The Megan Meier MySpace Incident
Megan Meier was a 13 year old from Missouri who struck up an online friendship on the popular social networking site MySpace with a person she believed was a new boy in her hometown. In actuality, the “friend” was a group of individuals, including adults, who were intent on humiliating the poor girl because of a friendship with another child that had gone awry. Megan was very upset when she found out the truth, then later committed suicide once the friendship had terminated. The horrifying case stunned the community and caused state government officials to pass some of the harshest cyber bullying laws in the country.

The “Dog Poop Girl

In South Korea, a female college student was riding the train with her dog when it defecated on the floor of the subway car. After the girl refused to clean up the mess, another passenger on the train took her picture using her cell phone and posted it online. In the months to follow, it became an Internet sensation in South Korea and “Dog Poop” girl became the target of extreme harassment. Individuals found out her name and address and soon she was forced to withdraw from school and move to another part of the country.

Cyberbullying is a terrible thing and kids should never do it.Some kids have even committed suicide, that is why kids need to control there anger and never give your personal info, to people you don't know online.
